There are two types of cases that are taken by the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD). They are-
1. Sponsorship Appeal
2. Residency Appeal
IAD will review the decision on the sponsorship or residency application and the candidate must obtain leave after they have reviewed the documents. In this process the candidate must prove that there was an error in the decision or that the decision was somehow unfair. When leave is obtained candidate and his immigration lawyer can stand before the IAD to explain the appeal in a hearing.
