To apply for citizenship in Canada a candidate must meet the following criteria-
1. Candidate must be a permanent resident
2. Have lived in Canada for 3 out of the last 5 years
3. Filed taxes,if required
4. Pass a citizenship test
5. Language proficiency
6. Other requirements may be applicable.
